Deuling Stone Outfitters, which holds
Concession 9, is a vast 10,000 square mile wilderness encompassing
parts of the Hess, Tay, Anvil and Rogue Mountain Ranges in the
northeastern Yukon. Hunters will find moose, mountain caribou,
wolf, wolverine, grizzly, black bear as well as sheep in the area.
And the sheep come in many shades. This concession is unique in
that it offers dark stones in the south, to shades of gray (fannins)
in the central areas, to the pure white dalls in the north.
Methods of hunting are offered through the
traditional horse pack string, boats, backpacking or even dog
packing. Whatever your choice of animals or means to collect them,
you will be accompanied by experienced guides who are familiar with
the country and the animals which inhabit it. They work under the
rules of the Yukon Wildlife Act as well as in the spirit of fair
chase. All guides are either family or friends of the outfitter.
All
hunters will have access to satellite phone communication, and each
guide has first aid certification which helps ensure a good, safe
hunt in a remote area.
Grayling, lunker lake trout, and those
slithering swamp snakes known as pike, available in most of our
lakes, provide a welcome pastime for after-hunt activities. Come
join us for some huntin’ and fishin’ fun with Deuling Stone
Outfitters.
